On Wednesday, February 5, 2025, the inauguration ceremony of the new building for the fire department, police, and civil protection took place, located on Motorenstrasse. Excavation work is now starting (click here to see the progress).
The construction of the new building for the fire department, police, and civil protection officially began with an inauguration ceremony. The new building is being built on the municipal site of the former VZO depot. This location will allow for optimal operational logistics and strengthen synergies between emergency services.
This modern and functional building project brings together the fire department, municipal police, and civil protection under one roof, continuing to optimally provide essential services to the population while meeting the high standards of a sustainable building.
In 2023, the voters of Wetzikon clearly approved the new building. The city of Wetzikon looks forward to this future-oriented project, which is expected to be completed in 2027.
