Site machine operator training
as a site machine operator.
Training and permits
According to Article 8 of the Ordinance on Accident Prevention (OPA), all machinery with a seated driver must be operated only by workers who have been specially trained for the purpose, regardless of the machine’s weight. On the other hand, no training is required to drive pedestrian-operated site machinery or machinery with only a platform for support. Article 6 OPA stipulates that instruction is sufficient.
The training models for site machine operators differ from one sector to another. Participants who successfully complete the training are awarded a training certificate.
There is no federal construction machinery operator’s licence. The company certifies that the training or instruction has been completed. Please note that additional cantonal provisions apply for the cantons of Valais, Vaud, Geneva and Neuchâtel (cantonal construction site machinery operator’s licence).
